Solar for Anyone

Grid-tied PV System

A grid-tied solar system is one that is connected to the electrical power grid. Power generated by solar panels is fed into the power grid, and inverters funnel excess energy for net metering. That converts to monetary savings.

A grid-tied system requires 2 main components, solar panels and solar inverters. Other accessories required include circuit breakers and isolators for protection. The return of investments (ROI) from electrical savings typically is around 8 years. This duration of ROI is affected by the solar panels’ installation direction & angle, potential shading, weather, etc.
